Google has rolled out a new image generation and editing AI model, Gemini 2.5 Flash Image or Nano Banana, that will be integrated in the Gemini app. The model can be used to blur background in an image, remove objects, take out a person from a photo, change a pose and even add colours to a black and white photo just with natural language prompts.Google said that the AI model has advanced use cases because of a “deep, semantic understanding of the real world,” unlike previous image generation models. The model can also comprehend and merge multiple input images. Users can also insert a foreign object into a room or restyle it with a specific colour code or design. “Beyond character consistency, the model is also excellent at adhering to visual templates. We have already seen developers explore areas like real estate listing cards, uniform employee badges, or dynamic product mockups for an entire catalog—all from a single design template,” the blog noted. The model has also been made available via the Gemini API and Google AI Studio for developers and Vertex AI for enterprise. Gemini 2.5 Flash Image is priced at $30 per 1 million output tokens with each image costing 1290 output tokens or $0.039 per image. READ MORE Published – August 28, 2025 11:16 am IST
