OpenAI this week announced that it was opening app submissions for review and publication in ChatGPT, inviting developers to send in their ChatGPT apps.OpenAI noted that the first set of approved apps will begin rolling out gradually in the new year, with the company stating that it would explore more monetisation options over time after understanding how developers and users engage with its ecosystem.“This is just the beginning. Over time, we want apps in ChatGPT to feel like a natural extension of the conversation, helping people move from ideas to action, while building a thriving ecosystem for developers. As we learn from developers and users, we’ll continue refining the experience for everyone. We also plan to grow the ecosystem of apps in ChatGPT, make apps easier to discover, and expand the ways developers can reach users and monetize their work,” stated OpenAI in its blog post.A number of apps are already listed on OpenAI’s ChatGPT app page, including Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Expedia, Instacart, Replit, Spotify, and more. Apple Music has also joined the list, but users will need a subscription in order to make use of more comprehensive features, such as accessing their personal library.“With this app, ChatGPT can connect to Apple Music so all users can search the Apple Music catalog for songs, artists, albums, and playlists—no subscription required. All users can discover music, generate playlists, and listen to clips of music directly within ChatGPT with the help of Apple Music. Users with Apple Music subscriptions can add songs, albums, and playlists to their personal Apple Music library,” stated the Apple Music app bio on ChatGPT. Published – December 19, 2025 02:34 pm IST
