Truecaller brings voicemail for Android users in India

Truecaller on Thursday (December 18, 2025) introduced the AI-powered voicemail for Android users in India with instant transcription and automatic spam protection. It said that these voicemail messages will be stored directly on the user’s device.The voicemail claims to do smart call categorization and spam filtering, apart from offering adjustable playback speed and transcription in 12 Indian languages including Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Gujarati, Nepali, Punjabi, Sanskrit and Urdu.(For top technology news of the day, subscribe to our tech newsletter Today’s Cache)“Traditional voicemail was built for a very different era of communication,” said Rishit Jhunjhunwala, CEO, Truecaller.“With Truecaller Voicemail, we are fundamentally rethinking how voice messages fit into everyday life — making them free, device-native and seamlessly integrated into the calling experience.
